Imagi Secures $4.5 Million Seed Funding

Edtech startup Imagi has raised $4.5 million in Seed funding to expand its platform that teaches coding and AI literacy to K-12 students.

The round included investments from Brighteye Ventures, Day One Capital, and artist will.i.am.

Founded in 2018 by Dora Palfi and Beatrice Ionascu, Imagi provides educators and students with tools to teach coding, computational thinking, and responsible AI usage in classrooms.

Helping Students Learn AI Through Coding

Imagi enables schools to build coding and AI-focused curricula while providing teachers with classroom-ready educational resources.

In 2025, the company partnered with Lovable to introduce AI-assisted "vibe coding" into classrooms through a controlled learning environment. The partnership allows teachers to create coding lessons while giving students supervised access to AI-powered development tools.

The initiative is further supported by OpenAI, which has provided $1 million in API credits to make the Imagi and Lovable platform available to schools at no cost.

According to the company, its platform has reached more than 700,000 students across 140 countries.

Scaling AI Education Globally

Imagi plans to use the new funding to expand into more K-12 schools, strengthen district-level sales, hire new talent, develop additional platform features, and launch a new education platform.

The company is focused on helping students develop practical AI and coding skills while supporting teachers with safe, classroom-ready AI tools.
