Greenjets Secures $40 Million Series A Funding

UK-based aerospace startup Greenjets has raised $40 million (£30 million) in a Series A funding round to accelerate production of its propulsion systems, aircraft platforms, and defence technologies.

The round was led by Blossom Capital, with participation from the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), the UK's National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF), Tanglin Ventures, and NSFO Family Office.

Expanding Defence and Aerospace Manufacturing

Greenjets develops propulsion systems, aircraft platforms, and launch technologies for defence and future aviation applications. The company said the new funding will support its transition from research and development to large-scale manufacturing.

The investment follows Greenjets' selection under the UK Ministry of Defence's Low-Cost Air Defence Effectors (LCADE) programme, which focuses on developing affordable drone interception technologies.

Scaling Production and Global Expansion

According to the company, the fresh capital will help expand manufacturing capacity and support delivery of thousands of systems over the next 12 months.

Greenjets also plans to grow its workforce from around 160 employees to more than 250 while expanding operations across Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and India.

Supporting Sovereign Defence Capabilities

The funding comes amid increasing investment in sovereign aerospace and defence technologies across Europe. Greenjets aims to strengthen its integrated propulsion and aircraft technology platform to support defence modernization and future aviation programs.
