Pune-based AI startup CurvetAI has raised Rs 6 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Merak Ventures, with participation from angel investors. The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its engineering capabilities, strengthen its technology infrastructure and develop agent-based features capable of handling more complex workflows.
Founded in December 2025 by Vivek Dubey and Utkarsh Gupta, CurvetAI is building an AI workspace that brings multiple AI models together on a single platform. Users can work with text, image, audio and video models, compare their outputs and combine different capabilities within the same workflow.
The startup says it has already crossed 1 lakh monthly users globally, with India and the US emerging as its largest markets. It has also started generating revenue and serves individuals, teams and educational institutions.
From AI Tool Discovery to an AI Workspace
CurvetAI did not start out as a workspace.
The company initially focused on helping users discover AI tools and prompts. But the founders noticed a problem with that model: users would find a tool on the platform and then have to leave CurvetAI to actually use it.
That gap led the company to shift its focus.
CurvetAI evolved into a workspace where users could access different AI models from one place instead of moving between multiple applications. The platform supports text, image, audio and video models, allowing users to compare results and combine different capabilities as part of a single workflow.
This shift is also reflected in the company's plans for agent-based capabilities. Rather than simply giving users access to individual models, CurvetAI wants its platform to handle more complex sequences of tasks.
More Than 1 Lakh Monthly Users
CurvetAI currently has more than 1 lakh monthly users globally, according to the company.
India and the US are its largest markets. The platform is used by individual users as well as teams and educational institutions.
The company has also started generating revenue, although the source does not disclose its current revenue figures.
For an AI startup founded in late 2025, the user base gives CurvetAI an early distribution channel as it develops its broader workspace offering.
The company is now looking to build on this base by improving the underlying technology and expanding the range of workflows users can complete on the platform.
Building Agent-Based Capabilities
A major focus of the new funding will be developing agent-based capabilities.
AI agents are designed to carry out multi-step tasks rather than simply respond to individual prompts. For CurvetAI, this means moving towards workflows where different AI capabilities can be combined to complete more complex jobs.
The company has not disclosed specific agent workflows it plans to launch. However, its existing model-agnostic workspace provides the foundation for bringing different AI capabilities together.
Its platform already allows users to work across text, image, audio and video models. The next step is to make these capabilities work together more effectively within larger workflows.
The Rs 6 crore funding will support the engineering and infrastructure required for that expansion.
Founders Bring Experience from Major Technology Companies
CurvetAI was founded by Vivek Dubey and Utkarsh Gupta in December 2025.
Dubey has previously worked at Infosys, Microsoft and Google. Gupta has worked at Samsung and currently leads CurvetAI's engineering and technical infrastructure.
The founders' experience across large technology companies is being applied to a startup focused on bringing multiple AI capabilities into a single product.
CurvetAI is also working with AI model developers and has collaborations with GnaniAI, Rumik AI and Alibaba.
These relationships give the startup access to a broader set of AI capabilities as it develops its platform.
Competing in a Crowded AI Application Market
The market for AI applications has expanded rapidly as new models and specialised tools have become available.
For users, this creates both opportunity and friction. There are now models designed for writing, coding, image generation, video creation, audio generation, research and other tasks. Moving between different tools can become cumbersome, particularly when a workflow requires several types of AI output.
CurvetAI's approach is to put these capabilities inside a single workspace.
Its original product discovery model gave the company insight into the large number of AI tools available to users. The shift to a workspace came from the realisation that discovery alone was not enough if users still needed to leave the platform to complete the task.
That product decision now forms the basis of CurvetAI's broader strategy.
Fresh Capital to Strengthen the Platform
The Rs 6 crore pre-seed round led by Merak Ventures gives CurvetAI additional capital at an early stage of its development.
The company plans to invest in engineering and technology infrastructure while building more advanced agent-based capabilities.
At this stage, the company's main challenge will be turning its growing user base into sustained engagement and revenue while keeping the product simple enough for users who may not want to manage multiple AI models themselves.
The platform's ability to compare models and combine different modalities could also become increasingly useful as users adopt AI for more complex tasks.
CurvetAI's early traction gives it a starting point. Its next phase will be about proving that an AI workspace can become more than a convenient collection of models and tools.
The company is now building toward a platform where users can discover AI capabilities, access them in one place and eventually delegate more complex workflows to AI agents.
