Senior In-House Real Estate Counsel
A leading regional real estate developer, owner, and property manager is seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join its legal team. The company maintains a substantial portfolio with a significant concentration in retail properties and is looking for a senior attorney capable of handling sophisticated real estate matters with considerable independence.
The attorney will work closely with company leadership and business teams on the full range of legal issues affecting the portfolio. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, amendments, assignments, and related agreements
- Reviewing and negotiating loan documents and other real estate financing agreements
- Handling acquisition, disposition, development, and property-management matters
- Providing practical legal guidance to senior management and internal business teams
- Managing outside counsel on larger transactions, litigation, and specialized matters
- Identifying and managing legal and business risks across the company’s real estate operations
Qualified candidates should have significant commercial real estate transactional experience, including a strong background in leasing and financing. Prior in-house experience is welcome but not required. Candidates should possess excellent drafting and negotiation skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage matters independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The company is based in the Philadelphia suburbs and is open to hybrid or primarily remote arrangements for the right candidate. Title, compensation, and working arrangement are flexible based on experience. Anticipated compensation is approximately $350,000–$500,000.
