Senior Accountant | Real Estate | Dallas, TX
I’m working with a well-established real estate investment and development platform with a significant national presence and a diverse portfolio of market-rate and affordable residential properties. They are looking to add a Senior Accountant to their Dallas team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting activities, cash management, and coordination of accounts receivable and payable
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger activity
- Prepare journal entries and perform detailed GL analysis
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare supporting workpapers for balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Assist with quarterly and year-end tax, cash, and GAAP reporting
- Prepare job cost requisitions, capital calls, and advance requests
- Partner with the Controller and business executives on cash flow forecasting
- Analyze monthly and year-end budget variances
- Create reporting templates and financial analysis using Excel and accounting systems
- Collaborate with fund and property management teams to produce monthly and quarterly reporting
- Interface with independent auditors, internal teams, and regulatory agencies
- Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of real estate accounting experience, ideally at the residential property level
- Experience with federal and/or local housing agency reporting preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
- Strong judgment and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPA highly preferred
Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Hybrid — 1–2 days onsite per week
