Assistant Community Manager | Job Overview

As an Assistant Community Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations of the community, including leasing, resident relations, rent collection, renewals, and administrative tasks. Working closely with the Community Manager, you will help lead the team, resolve resident concerns, maintain strong occupancy, and create a positive community experience.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:
Two years of property management experience preferred. Six months of previous Assistant Community Manager experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License required. Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP) accreditation is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Leasing & Occupancy:
• Conduct property tours, respond to leads, and guide prospects through the leasing process.
• Identify prospect needs and showcase available homes and community amenities.
• Ensure lease applications, renewals, and related documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Support occupancy and retention goals through effective leasing and resident engagement.
• Create and manage social media content promoting the community, resident events, and engagement.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-presented office, amenities, and common areas.

Financial & Administrative:
• Oversee rent collection, check scanning, and payment posting.
• Monitor delinquencies, conduct weekly follow-up calls, and assist with eviction procedures when necessary.
• Review resident ledgers to verify billing, payments, and account accuracy.
• Assist with financial reporting and documentation for the Community Manager and regional leadership.

Leadership & Resident Support:
• Assume leadership responsibilities in the Community Manager’s absence to maintain smooth operations.
• Support a positive, productive team environment through communication, collaboration, and goal-setting.
• Help prioritize daily tasks and ensure exceptional resident service.
• Address resident concerns and de-escalate conflicts with professionalism, empathy, and follow-through.

Work Schedule

Leasing office hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. One weekday off is provided each week to maintain a 40-hour work schedule. Evening and weekend availability may be required for resident events and community needs.

Compensation & Benefits

Assistant Community Managers are eligible for monthly leasing and renewal commissions and quarterly performance bonuses in addition to hourly compensation.
