About the Role
Tata CLiQ Luxury is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Category Intern to support strategic projects across the Luxury Menswear and Kidswear categories. The role will involve working closely with the Category team to analyze pricing, assortment, customer behavior, brand performance, seasonal demand patterns, and portfolio opportunities, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Support data preparation by reviewing the project roadmap, requesting required dataset access, documenting data quality issues, and creating a data dictionary.
Set up Excel-based analysis models, conduct exploratory analysis, and draft analytical frameworks for business problem-solving.
Analyze pricing and demand economics across menswear and kidswear categories, including apparel, footwear, and fashion accessories.
Evaluate discount effectiveness across price bands and promotion levels, including revenue-volume trade-offs and optimal pricing points.
Build category-level pricing recommendation matrices basis product type, brand positioning, price band, and customer response.
Segment customers basis purchase frequency, basket size, AOV, repeat purchase behavior, and premium/luxury buying maturity.
Evaluate Customer Lifetime Value, acquisition versus retention economics, repeat purchase trends, and high-value customer segment opportunities.
Analyze brand and product performance across revenue, margin, units sold, contribution margin, inventory movement, and customer demand.
Identify high margin versus high-volume products across menswear and kidswear, including apparel, footwear, and accessories.
Study cross-selling patterns, basket composition, product affinity, and products frequently bought together within menswear and kidswear baskets.
Build a brand portfolio matrix to classify brands/products as Stars, Cash Cows, Question Marks, or Dogs.
Analyze seasonal and occasion-led demand patterns across Diwali, New Year, weddings, summer holidays, back-to-school, gifting, and festive periods.
Conduct geographic analysis across metros, Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities to identify regional pricing, assortment, and demand opportunities.
Create visualizations, executive summaries, data models, recommendation frameworks, and implementation-ready business outputs.
Project Scope & Deliverables
Project 1: Pricing & Demand Economics
Price elasticity, discount sensitivity, and pricing recommendation report for menswear and kidswear.
Project 2: Customer Segmentation & Lifetime Value
Customer segmentation, CLV, CAC versus retention economics, and retention strategy report.
Project 3: Product & Brand Portfolio Strategy
Brand portfolio matrix, margin analysis, product mix, cross-selling patterns, and portfolio optimization report.
Project 4: Seasonal & Geographic Demand Patterns
Occasion-led demand analysis, seasonal forecast, and regional assortment strategy recommendations.
Overall Output Expected
Four project analysis reports with actionable business recommendations.
One integrated strategic roadmap for Luxury Menswear / Kidswear.
Executive-ready presentation deck.
Implementation playbook with prioritized actions, including quick wins and long-term initiatives.
Reusable data models, templates, and analysis frameworks.
Qualifications
Graduate or currently pursuing graduation in Business, Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Engineering, Fashion Management, or related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Tableau, or Python will be an added advantage.
Prior internship experience in e-commerce, retail, fashion, luxury, category management, or analytics will be preferred.
Ability to work with large datasets and convert analysis into clear business insights and recommendations.
