Senior Product Manager – Europe

Introduction

Exicom is looking to enhance its AC charger portfolio and EU is a priority market. We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead it. The role owns portfolio architecture, the regulatory and certification roadmap, and the software and connectivity requirements for AC products sold into European markets, working directly with our hardware, embedded and cloud engineering teams in India.

This is a hands-on product role. It suits someone who has taken AC charging products through European certification and into market before, and who is comfortable making portfolio and architecture decisions rather than administering a backlog.

Europe is a priority growth market for the business. Initial commercial focus is on Southern and Eastern Europe — Greece, Romania, the Balkans, Spain and the wider CEE region — sold through distributor and installer channels. This role is the European product voice within our engineering organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and build out the European AC charging portfolio: Socket vs tethered variants, home and semi-public applications, MID-compliant energy metering, and solar PV and BESS integration.

• Own the regulatory and certification roadmap: Own the certification roadmap for new SKUs and emerging regulatory requirements — including MID metering variants, the RED cybersecurity delegated act and EN 18031, the Cyber Resilience Act, IEC 62955, and national grid connection and smart charging requirements in priority markets.

• Define software and connectivity requirements: Migration path to OCPP 2.0.1 and 2.1, ISO 15118 and Plug & Charge, dynamic load management, phase switching, home energy management interfaces, dynamic tariff support and OTA updates

• Write product requirement documents and manage the product roadmap with engineering teams in India, and support commercial teams on positioning, pricing input and launch readiness.

• Gather installer, distributor and end-user requirements first-hand across priority markets, and maintain competitive benchmarking against European AC manufacturers including Zaptec, Wallbox, Easee, go-e, V2C, Autel, Alfen, KEBA, Vestel, ABB and Schneider.

• Support extension of the portfolio to North America, where we hold UL certification. This is a secondary priority in the near term.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

• 6–10 years in product management or product-facing engineering within the EV charging industry.

• Direct experience taking a CE-marked AC charging product through certification and into a European market.

• Working knowledge of OCPP built through implementation and interoperability testing rather than specification review.

• Ability to own both hardware and software requirements.

• Experience of shipping into more than one European market.

• Comfortable operating as the sole product owner for the region and establishing process from first principles.

Desirable

• Experience at a European AC charger manufacturer.

• Exposure to Southern or Eastern European markets.

• Established relationships with distributors, installer networks or certification bodies.

• A second European language alongside English.

Location and Travel

The role is remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the European Union or EEA. We have a preference for candidates in or close to Southern and Eastern Europe, given our commercial priorities, but remain open for the right candidate. The role involves regular travel across Europe and periodic travel to India.

Engagement and Compensation

This is an individual contributor role to begin with. Engagement is through an Employer of Record on either a permanent or fixed-term basis, and we are flexible on the structure that works best for the candidate. Compensation is competitive.
