Product Manager, OEM Sensor and Compute Module

Overview

MARTAC is seeking a Product Manager to own a hardware-software OEM module product line. This module enables platform and mission autonomy by integrating sensors with compute, networking, and circuit-level hardware into a productized package that third parties can adopt. This role requires genuine engineering design skill in circuit integration, compute selection, and networking architecture, not only program coordination, since the Product Manager will directly manage and integrate the components that make sensor integration possible. Beyond engineering design, this role owns the product's full lifecycle and market position, working closely with business development as MARTAC brings the product to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the engineering design and integration of the product's core components: circuit integration, compute selection, and networking architecture.

• Manage the integration of sensors into the module to enable platform autonomy (navigation, collision avoidance) and mission autonomy (sensor-driven behaviors).

• Define and maintain the product's design specifications, ensuring the module meets performance, size, weight, power, and manufacturability requirements.

• Own the product lifecycle, from concept and design through production, fielded support, and next-generation iteration.

• Own the product's market position, working with business development to shape pricing, positioning, and customer-facing roadmap as MARTAC pursues customers for the product.

• Partner with the Chief Systems Engineer on design reviews, ensuring design decisions meet engineering standards and receive appropriate technical sign-off.

• Coordinate with third-party OEM partners and internal platform teams to define integration requirements and interface specifications for product adoption.

• Support proposal efforts, customer technical interchange meetings, and program reviews as the product lead.

• Maintain configuration control and design documentation for the product line.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Hands-on engineering design experience in circuit integration, embedded compute, and networking architecture.

• Demonstrated experience integrating sensors into a hardware platform or module, ideally in support of autonomy or robotics applications.

• Experience taking a hardware or hardware-software product through productization, from design to a market-ready product.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering, business development, and customer-facing stakeholders.

• Comfort owning both the technical design and the business and lifecycle side of a product.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with unmanned or autonomous systems, sensor fusion, or defense OEM hardware products.

• Experience supporting defense customers and contract deliverables.

• Familiarity with platform autonomy and mission autonomy concepts as applied to unmanned maritime systems.

• Prior experience operating within a matrixed engineering organization supporting multiple concurrent product lines.

Location

This position is based on-site, either at MARTAC's Melbourne, Florida headquarters or at MARTAC's San Diego, California West Coast Innovation Hub.
