Company Description
At Nielsen, we are passionate about our work to power a better media future for all people by providing powerful insights that drive client decisions and deliver extraordinary results. Our talented, global workforce is dedicated to capturing audience engagement with content - wherever and whenever it’s consumed. Together, we are proudly rooted in our deep legacy as we stand at the forefront of the media revolution. When you join Nielsen, you will join a dynamic team committed to excellence, perseverance, and the ambition to make an impact together. We champion you, because when you succeed, we do too. We enable your best to power our future.
Job Description
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own overall product strategy and roadmap for core streaming products (DCR, SPR, SCR) end-to-end, with the goal to improve the overall customer experience metrics and optimize and scale product enhancements by identifying simplifiers that contribute to overall OE.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis of the streaming, TV, and digital video ecosystem to surface insights on emerging trends, competitor positioning, and client needs.
- Maintain a prioritized product backlog grounded in customer pain-points, data signals, and quarterly strategy documents — not feature requests in isolation.
- Translate SVP-level vision into executable roadmap milestones with clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
Product Development & Delivery
- Lead prototype-first development cycles: ship working artifacts early, use demos to drive alignment, and produce written specs as a downstream artifact.
- Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and Global Data Solutions to drive timely, high-quality delivery of product increments across the full lifecycle — from requirements and design through QA and launch.
- Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and API/data specs; serve as the primary day-to-day product contact for engineering teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Go-to-Market
- Collaborate with Sales, Client Success, and Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing inputs, and client onboarding materials for new product features and module launches.
- Engage key internal and external stakeholders — including clients, industry partners, and industry associations — to ensure product decisions reflect real-world needs and support enterprise deal cycles.
- Represent the Content Product team across cross-functional forums; communicate priorities, trade-offs, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in video content measurement, contributing to external thought leadership, client conversations, and industry forums as needed.
Quality, Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Uphold Nielsen’s gold-standard history of data accuracy, neutrality, and methodological rigor across all product decisions and launches.
- Define and track KPIs across the product success dimensions: time-to-value, D30/W12 retention, expansion revenue, and compounding moat metrics.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Nielsen’s content measurement data.
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks in development processes to improve team velocity without quality regressions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technical product management roles
- 3+ years in a principal (or equivalent) product role owning an enterprise, revenue-impacting product
- Proven ownership of a revenue/retention/expansion metric
- Direct engineering/data science partnership experience, "player-coach" style
- Media measurement/streaming/TV/adtech experience preferred
- Track record in lean, high-autonomy team structures
Education
- Engineering, CS, Software Development, or related technical field preferred
- 10+ years in a technical PM role accepted in lieu of a technical degree
- MBA/MS a plus, not required
Skills & Competencies
- AI-fluency, technical credibility, data-driven decision-making, executive communication, ambiguity management, enterprise B2B/GTM experience
