Electrical Operations Manager / General Manager Track

About the Opportunity

We are building a growth-focused electrical contracting company serving the North Texas market and are looking for an experienced Electrical Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations and help scale the business.

The company currently has an established customer base and operating history, with work primarily consisting of custom homes, residential electrical construction, remodels and electrical service. Our next phase is to aggressively expand our service department while building a larger commercial electrical division.

This is not simply a project-management position.

We are looking for someone who can ultimately run the electrical operation — managing people, projects, scheduling, estimating, customers, quality, profitability and growth.

The right person should be capable of growing into a General Manager / Division President-type role as the company expands.

What You'll Own

You will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the electrical company, including:

• Manage electricians, apprentices, service technicians and subcontractors

• Schedule crews and coordinate multiple active projects

• Oversee custom-home electrical projects from plans through final inspection

• Manage residential electrical service and repair operations

• Coordinate remodel, addition and renovation projects

• Help develop and grow our commercial electrical business

• Review plans, scopes, estimates and proposals

• Monitor labor hours, material costs and job profitability

• Ensure materials are ordered and jobs are properly prepared before crews arrive

• Communicate with builders, general contractors, homeowners and commercial customers

• Maintain project schedules and resolve field issues quickly

• Ensure workmanship meets company standards and NEC/code requirements

• Coordinate permitting and inspections

• Develop and enforce field procedures, checklists and quality-control standards

• Recruit, train and develop electricians as the company grows

• Hold field personnel accountable for production, quality and customer experience

• Work with ownership to establish KPIs, revenue goals and gross-margin targets

Our Work

Our electrical operation will serve a diverse customer base, including:

Custom Residential
New custom homes, luxury homes, whole-home renovations, additions, outdoor living spaces, shops, detached garages and specialty residential projects.

Electrical Service
Troubleshooting, panel replacements, service upgrades, EV chargers, generators, lighting, smart-home electrical, exterior/landscape lighting and general electrical repairs.

Commercial
Tenant improvements, office and retail build-outs, service work, facility maintenance, lighting upgrades and small-to-mid-sized commercial construction.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who understands that running an electrical company requires more than knowing the electrical trade.

You should understand production, people, customers and numbers.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 7+ years of electrical industry experience

• Previous experience managing electricians or electrical construction crews

• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial electrical systems

• Experience with custom-home electrical construction strongly preferred

• Experience reading electrical plans and specifications

• Strong understanding of NEC and local permitting/inspection requirements

• Experience scheduling multiple crews and projects

• Ability to estimate or review electrical estimates

• Understanding of labor productivity, material costs and job profitability

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Ability to deal professionally with builders, general contractors and demanding customers

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable using technology for scheduling, project management and communication

"I've got the operation. Here's what's happening, here's where we're off track, and here's what we're doing about it."

For the right person, the opportunity is to move beyond Operations Manager into a General Manager / senior leadership role with increasing responsibility and compensation tied to company performance.

Compensation

Competitive base salary + performance-based incentive opportunity

Compensation will depend on experience, licensing, management capability and ability to take ownership of the operation.

Performance incentives may be tied to measurable company results including revenue growth, gross margin, job profitability, production and customer performance.

Benefits and vehicle/allowance structure will be discussed based on experience.

Pay: $78,771.03 - $100,778.02 per year
