Job Overview
HVAC Field Operations Manager
Bloomington, IN (and surrounding counties)
Full-time
We’re building a residential and light-commercial HVAC company and need a field leader who can run the crews day to day. Office work — scheduling, invoicing, payroll, and customer billing — stays with our existing construction office. Your job is the trucks, the techs, the installs, and the quality of the work.
What you’ll do
- Run daily field operations: assign jobs, check in with techs, and keep the board moving
- Supervise installers and service technicians on residential and light-commercial heating and cooling work
- Walk jobs, review installs and repairs, and sign off on quality before we call a job done
- Handle field-level customer questions and callbacks so problems get fixed the first time
- Order and stage equipment and materials with the office so crews aren’t standing around
- Train techs on company standards, safety, and manufacturer procedures
- Keep vehicles, tools, and job sites in order
- Report production, issues, and material needs back to the office each day
Support
Office admin. Scheduling software, AR/AP, permits coordination, and bookkeeping stay with our current staff. You’ll work with them, not replace them.
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in HVAC, with real time leading install or service crews
- EPA 608 certification (Universal preferred); Indiana HVAC licensing
- Comfortable running 3–8 techs without a manager standing over you
- Strong on installs (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork) and able to troubleshoot service calls
- Experience with mini-splits, heat pumps, and indoor air quality products
- Clear communicator with customers and with an office team that is not on the truck
- Valid driver’s license and a clean enough record to be insured
- Willing to be on call for after-hours emergencies on a rotation
Nice to have
- NATE certification
- Prior role as a lead installer, service manager, or field supervisor
- Familiarity with the Central/Southern Indiana market
What we offer
- A lead role in a new company, not a seat in a 40-person bureaucracy
- Competitive pay based on experience (salary plus performance bonus tied to production and callbacks)
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Health insurance, paid time off, and tools/phone support
- A back office that already runs a construction company, so you are not building systems from scratch
If you can keep techs productive, jobs clean, and customers from calling back, we want to talk.
Apply with a short note on the size of crew you’ve run and the kind of work you’ve supervised (install, service, or both).
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
