Summary and responsibilities

Role overview

Summary

The Product Manager will own the banking experience, defining account structures and crafting intuitive interfaces for customers. This role involves operating with full autonomy, collaborating with design and engineering, and driving the product roadmap from execution to platform evolution based on customer feedback.

POSITION SUMMARY

Augustus is a next-generation correspondent bank building a modern core banking infrastructure to provide global fintechs and non-US banks with direct access to US Dollar clearing. Operating with a national bank charter (in organization) and our proprietary core banking engine, Marble, we eliminate legacy banking delays and intermediary middleware. Backed by $200M+ from Tier-1 investors (Valar, Tiger Global, QED, Creandum), we are live in Europe with Euro and stablecoin clearing and are now scaling our US operations.

As Product Manager – Banking Experience, you will own the core accounts infrastructure, developer APIs, and administrative dashboards that define how institutional clients interact with the bank. Reporting to the Head of Product and working directly with the CTO, you will operate with complete autonomy to define account structures, design intuitive workflows, and drive product execution with engineering and design.

FIRST 6 MONTHS

- Months 1-2: Assume full ownership of the Banking Experience roadmap and team rituals; engage directly with pilot customers to analyze account usage patterns; define and ship your first production feature.

- Months 3-4: Drive daily sprint execution, unblock engineering teams, and make high-stakes prioritization decisions. Rapidly iterate on APIs, dashboards, and core account features using direct client feedback.

- Months 5-6: Scale platform adoption across active institutional clients; support deposit growth and account creation; transition from initial execution to long-term platform extensibility based on client integrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the product lifecycle for Banking Experience, covering multi-currency account hierarchies, developer APIs, web dashboards, and administrative control planes.

- Architect elegant information systems and intuitive user interfaces that simplify complex financial operations and compliance requirements.

- Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams on technical specifications, API schemas, and core banking integrations.

- Partner with early-adopter fintechs and international banks to conduct discovery, run product demos, and integrate client feedback into the product roadmap.

- Leverage modern AI tools to accelerate product discovery, specifications, data analysis, and delivery workflows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven track record owning and shipping products end-to-end within banking, fintech, or developer platform ecosystems.

- Deep technical fluency: comfortable evaluating system architecture, debating technical trade-offs, and designing REST/gRPC APIs alongside engineering leads.

- Demonstrated experience designing complex control planes, dashboards, or developer consoles for technical/financial users.

- Strong product taste with exceptional ability to structure intricate financial data into clear, intuitive information architecture.

- Commercial acumen and customer-facing experience, including leading discovery calls, demos, and technical scoping with enterprise clients.

- Location: Based in New York City or Berlin (or willing to relocate).

WHAT WE OFFER

- Substantial equity participation: all full-time employees receive meaningful equity ownership.

- Competitive compensation, relocation assistance, and visa sponsorship.

- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plus 401(k) matching (US).

- Hardware setup: top-tier Apple equipment (MacBook + AirPods).

- Daily lunch stipend, gym allowance, and an individual annual learning and development budget.

- Four global company offsites/onsites per year in premier locations.
