Job Description

The Property Associate serves as the primary administrative contact for an industrial real estate portfolio, supporting property management operations, accounting activities, tenant relations, and customer service. This entry-level opportunity offers hands-on experience and career development in commercial property management.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to tenant inquiries, process service requests, and coordinate maintenance issue resolution.

  • Perform administrative tasks, data entry, document preparation, and property record maintenance.

  • Support accounts payable and receivable, invoice coding, and certificate of insurance tracking.

  • Coordinate vendors, manage work orders, and monitor maintenance and repair activities.

  • Assist with monthly reports, financial summaries, and property performance updates.

  • Support lease administration, tenant move-ins, document filing, and lease-related communications.

  • Assist with tenant events, building announcements, and community engagement activities.

  • Provide backup reception, mail distribution, and general office support.

  • Ensure compliance with property management agreements, local regulations, and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Communications, or a related field.

  • 1-2 years of office or administrative experience, preferably in commercial real estate or property management.

  • 1-2 years of customer service or customer-facing experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.

  • Experience with data entry, document management, and administrative support.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

  • Positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to commercial real estate, property management, or leasing.

  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice coding, and insurance documentation.

  • Strong tenant relationship management and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively.

  • Interest in building a long-term career in commercial property management.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite contract position in Richmond, Virginia, with regular interaction with tenants, vendors, and internal teams. The role requires frequent computer use and familiarity with property management systems and Microsoft Office. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals. Onsite parking is available, and professional office attire is expected. Interviews begin onsite, followed by a virtual meeting.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay rate is $25.00.
