Role overview
Summary
This role is responsible for planning and managing the finance and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory norms, and overseeing financial reporting activities. The position involves supporting month-end and year-end closings, preparing financial reports, and managing external audits while enabling business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and Audit
Develop and maintain processes and systems across finance and accounting to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Oversee compliance with accounting policies and applicable requirements relating to contracts, employee and vendor payments, income tax, TDS, GST, RBI guidelines, and other statutory matters.
Manage internal and external audits, including IFC/ICFR and internal assurance audits, and provide required clarifications to auditors.
Track audit observations, drive corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of non-compliances.
Review and update policies to address changes in laws and regulations across applicable jurisdictions.
Ensure timely completion of compliance activities, books closure, and SEBI reporting.
Financial Reporting and Accounting
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting activities.
Support preparation of quarterly and annual reports and coordinate internal and external reviews.
Prepare quarterly earnings releases and related financial reporting materials.
Monitor changes in accounting standards and provide IFRS/Ind AS interpretations and technical accounting memorandums.
Communicate accounting matters and evolving guidance to management and relevant stakeholders.
Manage communications with external auditors regarding financial statements, accounting matters, and disclosures.
Coordinate annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
Supervise international accounting activities and drive identification and resolution of accounting issues.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive global accounting policies to promote consistency and clarity.
Maintain reporting procedures aligned with internal control requirements.
Continuously evaluate and improve the financial close process to reduce reporting timelines and improve efficiency.
Review accounts receivable, provisions, write-offs, accruals, and deferrals and take appropriate corrective action.
Review payables, provisions, write-backs, advances, and other balance sheet items.
Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews and ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies.
Manage related-party reconciliations and compliance in coordination with the Secretarial team, including adherence to evolving SEBI requirements.
Manage ad hoc financial and accounting requests from management and other stakeholders.
Team Management
Monitor overall and individual team performance against annual objectives.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to ensure delivery of business and functional priorities.
Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment and support employee engagement and retention.
Qualifications and Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) with relevant post-qualification experience in finance and accounting.
Proven experience managing complex accounting environments and driving process improvements.
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a listed company preferred.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting, taxation, financial controls, and statutory requirements.
Experience with IFRS/Ind AS, audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated Capabilities

Ability to interpret accounting standards and translate requirements into practical business processes.
