Summary

As a KYC Analyst at Barclays, you will conduct in-depth due diligence, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and safeguard clients and the organization. This role involves supporting business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution, while collaborating with various internal departments.

KYC Analyst – Barclays | Gurugram

Purpose of the Role
Support business operations by conducting end-to-end KYC reviews, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating financial crime risks, and delivering operational excellence through accurate due diligence, stakeholder collaboration, and timely case completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end KYC reviews for Low, Medium, and High-Risk clients in line with Barclays policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for individual and corporate clients.

  • Review complex ownership structures, including Limited Companies, Trusts, Charitable Organisations, Nominee Entities, Defence, Gaming & Gambling businesses, PEPs, and High-Risk Jurisdictions (HRTC).

  • Assess client risk, identify red flags, and recommend appropriate risk classifications.

  • Ensure compliance with global KYC standards, AML regulations, sanctions, and financial crime policies.

  • Collaborate with Financial Crime, Risk Assessment, Coverage, Screening, Front Office, and other internal stakeholders to resolve KYC refresh and onboarding cases.

  • Prepare accurate reports, maintain documentation, and ensure data quality within target turnaround times.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Support issue resolution, reporting, and operational projects while maintaining strong risk and control standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in KYC/AML operations with expertise in Low, Medium, and High-Risk client reviews.

  • Strong knowledge of CDD, EDD, client risk assessment, and complex corporate ownership structures.

  • In-depth understanding of Global KYC policies, AML regulations, sanctions, and financial crime frameworks.

  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Data Protection Act, Companies Act, Financial Services Act, Insolvency Act, AML, and confidentiality regulations.

  • Experience handling Individual and Entity client types with the ability to independently classify client risk.

  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Effective stakeholder management with experience collaborating across Front Office, Financial Crime, Risk, and Compliance teams.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize complex, high-volume workloads and meet SLAs.
