Summary
The Senior Associate of Financial Asset Management – Underwriting serves as a core underwriting partner to deal teams across the transaction process. The Senior Associate of Financial Asset Management – Underwriting serves as a core underwriting partner to deal teams across the transaction process. This position plays a lead role in building and reviewing acquisition and disposition underwriting, as well as supporting diligence. The Senior Associate also plays a central role in training and developing junior staff on underwriting practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Underwriting – Acquisitions & Dispositions
Lead underwriting of acquisitions and dispositions, including detailed financial analyses and Argus models
Coordinate underwriting assumptions, sensitivities, and analyses with deal teams and internal partners across Brixmor
Develop a point of view on market rents, sales comps, cap rates, and submarket dynamics to inform and challenge underwriting assumptions
Support the diligence process across active transactions, partnering with internal teams and external advisors to validate underwriting assumptions
Prepare materials for Investment Committee review and regional discussions
Work closely with the Head of Underwriting to identify and implement process improvement opportunities across the FAM team
Team Development & Coaching
Review junior team members' work to ensure quality and consistency, providing clear and constructive feedback
Train and coach junior staff on underwriting and financial modeling
Success Looks Like:
High‑quality underwriting and IC memos that require minimal rework
Trusted partner to deal teams and leadership throughout the transaction process
Ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities under deadlines
Clear escalation of issues and decision points, enabling efficient leadership decisions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field
4–6 years of relevant experience in real estate underwriting, investments or transactions; retail real estate a plus
Strong financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Argus and Excel
Understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, valuation, and return metrics (e.g., IRR, NPV, cash-on-cash)
Strong analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
Experience mentoring junior team members preferred but not required

The base salary range for this position has been established as $120,000-$140,000 PLUS participation in our annual cash bonus plan. This salary range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
