Summary
As a Conservation Officer, you will lead coastal restoration efforts through the Restoration Forth partnership, identifying new opportunities by integrating ecological evidence, local knowledge, and community perspectives. This role involves building strong relationships with various stakeholders and contributing to wider coastal conservation and citizen science projects across the Firth of Forth.
Scotland’s coasts are home to remarkable wildlife and communities, but they are facing growing pressures. Restoring these habitats will be vital to creating healthier, more resilient seas and coastlines. As our Conservation Officer, you will help turn this ambition into action, leading our work to identify new opportunities for coastal restoration through the Restoration Forth partnership.
You’ll bring together ecological evidence, local knowledge and community perspectives to identify opportunities for restoration, while building strong relationships with landowners, communities, volunteers and conservation partners. You’ll also contribute to wider coastal conservation and citizen science projects across the Firth of Forth.
We’re looking for someone with experience in conservation or habitat restoration, strong project management and excellent partnership and communication skills. You’ll be confident working with communities and partners to turn knowledge and ideas into practical action, and bring the ambition, energy and commitment to help restore Scotland’s coastal environment and create a future where our seas and coasts are alive with wildlife, celebrated and protected by all.
We welcome applicants with the right skills and experience and are happy to explore different working hours or patterns to support the right candidate.
