Summary

The Real Estate Analyst / Senior Real Estate Analyst will support and lead full lifecycle real estate projects, functioning as a project developer and manager. This role involves site selection, acquisition, permitting, and asset management across various property types, ensuring projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with requirements.

Dominion Energy is seeking a Real Estate Analyst or Senior Real Estate Analyst to support and lead real estate projects across the enterprise. This role manages the full project lifecycle, including site selection, acquisitions, permitting, construction support, and long-term asset management. The position level will depend on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple real estate projects, collaborate with internal teams and external partners, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Real Estate Analyst Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of real estate projects across generation, transmission, office, and industrial properties.

  • Identify, evaluate, and acquire properties through purchase, lease, or other commercial agreements.

  • Coordinate due diligence activities, including title, surveys, environmental reviews, zoning, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support permitting and entitlement processes while addressing site constraints.

  • Assist with negotiating purchase agreements, leases, easements, licenses, and related contracts.

  • Partner with legal, engineering, environmental, finance, and construction teams throughout project execution.

  • Coordinate with public stakeholders and community representatives when required.

  • Support construction activities by ensuring real estate requirements are fulfilled.

  • Maintain property records, leasing documentation, and payment processes.

  • Prepare financial analyses, market research, and business cases.

  • Support large-scale infrastructure, renewable energy, and operational facility projects.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

Senior Real Estate Analyst Responsibilities

  • Lead complex real estate development projects from concept through acquisition, permitting, construction, and long-term asset management.

  • Develop site selection strategies and manage acquisitions for large projects.

  • Oversee due diligence, permitting, entitlement, and regulatory compliance.

  • Lead negotiations for commercial real estate agreements, including purchases, leases, easements, and related contracts.

  • Serve as the primary coordinator between development, engineering, legal, construction, environmental, regulatory, and community stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks affecting cost, schedule, or feasibility.

  • Manage external real estate consultants and contractors.

  • Provide strategic recommendations on portfolio optimization and site selection.

  • Oversee lease administration and long-term asset performance.

  • Manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.

  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

Real Estate Analyst

  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience.

Senior Real Estate Analyst

  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience, including leadership of complex real estate or development projects.

Required Skills

Real Estate Development

  • Experience managing projects from site selection through construction and asset management.

  • Understanding of development, permitting, entitlement, and regulatory processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple long-term projects.

Site Acquisition & Negotiation

  • Experience with property acquisition, leasing, and transaction structuring.

  • Strong negotiation skills for commercial real estate agreements.

  • Ability to assess market conditions and project feasibility.

Permitting & Compliance

  • Knowledge of zoning, environmental regulations, land use, and permitting.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure or energy projects is preferred.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including legal, engineering, environmental, construction, and finance.

  • Experience working with public stakeholders and community representatives.

Due Diligence & Risk Management

  • Knowledge of title review, surveys, environmental assessments, and legal documentation.

  • Ability to identify and resolve project risks.

Financial Analysis

  • Experience preparing financial models, market analyses, and investment recommendations.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Asset & Lease Management

  • Experience managing lease portfolios and compliance.

  • Familiarity with SAP/REFX or similar systems is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of real estate law, title, surveys, plats, and legal documents.

Communication

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Organization

  • Strong analytical, research, and project management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions

  • Office: 51–75%

  • Outdoor work: 51–75%

  • Travel: 26–50%

Salary

Real Estate Analyst: $73,200 – $95,000

Senior Real Estate Analyst: $90,900 – $118,100

Final compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and work location.
