Databricks Secures Strategic Funding at $188 Billion Valuation

Enterprise data and AI platform Databricks has signed a term sheet for a new strategic funding round at a $188 billion valuation, led by existing investor Coatue Management.

The transaction is expected to close later this summer. While the company has not disclosed the size of the investment or the full list of participating investors, the round represents a significant increase from its $134 billion valuation following a $7 billion fundraising completed in February 2026.

Expanding Enterprise AI Platform

Founded in 2013, Databricks provides a cloud-based data and AI platform that enables organizations to manage, analyze, and govern enterprise data. Its products help businesses build AI applications while managing access, costs, and governance across multiple AI models.

The company's key offerings include Unity AI Gateway, Genie, and Lakebase, which support AI governance, data analytics, and AI-powered applications for enterprise customers.

Funding to Support AI Innovation

According to Databricks, the new capital will be invested in expanding its enterprise AI platform, with a focus on advancing Unity AI Gateway, Genie, and Lakebase.

The company serves more than 20,000 organizations, including adidas, AT&T, Mastercard, and approximately 70% of Fortune 500 companies.

Strengthening Enterprise AI Leadership

Headquartered in San Francisco, Databricks was founded by researchers from the UC Berkeley AMPLab and has grown into one of the world's largest private AI companies.

The latest funding further strengthens the company's position in the enterprise AI market as organizations continue investing in data infrastructure and AI governance solutions.
