Role overview
Summary
The Turtle Care Assistant will assist keepers and WHC staff with the daily tasks associated with the care of confiscated turtles/tortoises housed at the Bronx Zoo. Responsibilities include preparing and distributing diets, cleaning enclosures, washing dishes, and performing basic turtle/tortoise husbandry.

The Turtle Care Assistant will assist keepers and WHC staff with the daily tasks associated with the care of confiscated turtles/tortoises housed at the Bronx Zoo.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Preparing and distributing diets
Cleaning and preparing of animal enclosures
Washing dishes
Keeping work areas clean
Basic turtle/tortoise husbandry (soaking, weighing, health assessments, etc.)
Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma (College coursework in related field preferred)
Interest in reptiles and amphibians. Previous experience caring for reptiles and amphibians preferred.
