The Duisburg city forest, covering approximately 1,800 hectares, has a high proportion of old-growth and deciduous trees, making it ecologically valuable and a valuable local recreation area. It is managed according to the principles of close-to-nature forestry, but climate change poses a significant challenge. To ensure the future viability of the Duisburg city forest, the Duisburg Environmental Agency is seeking a dedicated individual.
Your main responsibilities
Climate-friendly conversion of the municipal forest
Development of forest propagation concepts, visitor management concepts, forest education measures and environmental education measures
Certification and quality management in forestry operations
Preparing expert opinions and reviewing administrative offenses and regulatory measures
Performance of duties as the owner's office and as the central office of the forestry operation
What you bring with you
A completed university degree (Bachelor's or Diploma FH) in the field of forestry
The career qualification for career group 2, first entry-level position of the forestry service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (VAP FD 2.1) or comparable federal states
Driving licence class B
Good forestry expertise as well as expertise in nature and landscape conservation and nature protection law
Solid knowledge of all MS Office programs as well as basic knowledge of ArcGIS or the willingness to acquire this knowledge quickly.
Customer-oriented action and thinking, very good communication skills and dexterity in dealing with internal and external customers and authorities
Ability to work independently and responsibly, organizational skills and teamwork skills
High identification with the principles of natural forestry
