The client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to support financial reporting, performance management, compliance, and internal controls. The role involves preparing financial reports, leading budgeting, managing cash flow, and ensuring compliance within a growing hospitality and lifestyle portfolio.
Our Client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to support financial reporting, performance management, compliance and internal controls across a growing hospitality and lifestyle portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial discipline and effective business support.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
Prepare cash flow statements and support cash flow planning.
Submit timely and accurate VAT returns.
Conduct financial analysis for new and ongoing business opportunities.
Oversee and strengthen internal financial controls.
Act as a key contact for external auditors during statutory audits.
Monitor debtors, receivables and credit control procedures.
Support and supervise finance/accounting staff in daily settlements and receivables.
Ensure compliance with group policies, accounting standards and fiscal regulations.
Propose and implement finance process improvements.
Support, mentor and develop members of the finance team.
Requirements:
ACCA qualification or equivalent is mandatory.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar.
Experience in hotels, restaurants, hospitality, leisure, multi-site or multi-entity operations is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial controls.
Good understanding of VAT, audits and statutory compliance.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
Strong leadership, analytical and and communication skills.
High level of accuracy, organization and initiative.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Open to candidates based in Malta or willing to relocate.
