Summary

This Assistant Project Manager role involves coordinating wildlife and ecology projects across the Southwest, managing resources, and ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include facilitating communication among internal staff, clients, and subcontractors, tracking project progress, and providing technical support and mentorship to junior staff.

GeoSystems Analysis, Inc., a Trinity Consultants team, specializes in soil, water, and ecological sciences and has an exciting, full-time opportunity for an experienced wildlife and ecology professional to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager! This role supports projects across the Southwest and will be responsible for coordinating equipment, resources, and project-related information, as well as arranging travel and lodging for project teams. Other key responsibilities include working closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and leadership to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. This position will report out of either our Albuquerque, New Mexico or Tucson, Arizona office.


What will I be doing?

  • Assist with project communication and coordination among internal staff, clients, subcontractors, and collaborators.

  • Support tracking project goals, milestones, schedules, and task assignments.

  • Assist with development of scopes-of-work, proposals, study designs, budgets, and project schedules.

  • Support implementation of QA/QC procedures and assist with preparation and review of technical deliverables.

  • Coordinate field logistics, equipment organization, and project documentation.

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior staff and field crews as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with project managers and department staff regarding resource needs and scheduling.

  • Identify project challenges or deviations and communicate them to project leadership in a timely manner.

  • Promote collaboration, communication, and efficiency across multidisciplinary teams.


What qualifications are required for this role?

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., wildlife, biology) required.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a sector-relevant discipline, preferably within a consulting environment.

  • Experience planning and conducting wildlife surveys.

  • Experience ordering and organizing equipment and managing project logistics.

  • Strong understanding of project and financial management capabilities.

  • Experience using ArcGIS software and Microsoft software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to identify, manage, and communicate project risks and changes.

  • Capacity to produce and guide the development of technically sound deliverables.

  • Ability to develop and foster positive working relationships across teams and with clients.

  • Ability to navigate in remote areas and conduct field work in hot, dry conditions.

  • Valid driver's license and able to drive in off-road terrain.
