Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA) is a registered charity based in India, founded in 2010 by four compassionate animal advocates. Dedicated to promoting harmonious human-animal coexistence, YODA actively works to create a city free from animal cruelty. The organization offers a range of services, including medical care for abandoned and injured animals, behavioral rehabilitation, sheltering and adoption of homeless animals, vaccination and sterilization efforts to control the stray population, and educational initiatives to raise awareness about animal welfare.


Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian Surgeon to join YODA as part of our Animal Birth Control program. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Sanguem Goa. The role involves carrying out sterilizations and vaccinations of stray dogs and cats, providing medical care to rescued animals, and supporting the rehabilitation and well-being of animals under YODA's care. The Veterinarian Surgeon will collaborate with a passionate team to promote animal welfare and reduce stray animal populations in the community.


Qualifications

  • Proficient in surgical procedures, particularly sterilization and related veterinary surgeries

  • Knowledge of animal healthcare, including vaccination protocols, diagnostics, and treatment plans

  • Experience working with stray and rescue animals and addressing behavioral issues in animals

  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage emergencies effectively

  • Strong communication skills to provide client education and collaborate with team members

  • Veterinary Medicine degree (BVSc or equivalent) with a valid license to practice

  • Prior experience with animal welfare organizations is an advantage
