Join Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Federal Tax Services practice as a Manager on the TARDI team. You will lead the delivery of data-driven, web-based applications for complex tax planning, reporting, and compliance related to fixed income investment portfolios. This role involves translating stakeholder needs into product priorities, managing product backlogs, and leading Agile delivery activities across cross-functional teams.
Position Summary
You’ll join Deloitte Tax LLP’s National Federal Tax Services practice as a Manager supporting the Tax Analysis & Information Reporting for Debt Investments (TARDI) team. In this role, you will help shape and deliver data-driven, web-based applications that support complex tax planning, reporting, and compliance needs for large fixed income investment portfolios. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will translate complex stakeholder needs into clear product priorities, actionable requirements, and successful delivery outcomes. This role is well suited for a technically grounded product owner and project manager who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys leading cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore delivery models.
Work you'll do
Partnering with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate tax, financial, and operational requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and delivery plans
Owning and managing the product backlog, including prioritization, refinement, and roadmap alignment to support delivery of the highest-value features
Leading Agile delivery activities across sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to support consistent execution and continuous improvement
Managing project plans, delivery milestones, risks, dependencies, and status reporting across onshore and offshore team members
Supporting testing, defect triage, release readiness, documentation, and adoption of enterprise tools and processes while mentoring junior team members and interns
The team
National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) is a national practice within Deloitte Tax LLP made up of specialized service offerings developed in response to tax planning ideas, marketplace needs, and technological innovation. Within NFTS, the Tax Analysis & Information Reporting for Debt Investments (TARDI) practice helps clients address complex tax planning, reporting, and compliance considerations associated with corporate and government debt, mortgage-backed securities, and asset-backed securities. The team combines tax knowledge, financial product understanding, and technology-enabled data management capabilities to support large portfolios of fixed income investments.
Qualifications
Required:
Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, or a similar field
5+ years of experience in product ownership, project management, business analysis, or enterprise software delivery
5+ years of experience leading delivery of enterprise software applications from ideation through production release
Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for software delivery teams
Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries / sectors you serve

Licensed CPA in State of Practice/Primary Office if eligible to sit for the CPA

Certifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
Professional Engineer; Technology Certification
Preferred:
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Manager, or PMI-ACP certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience in a financial services, tax technology, consulting, or professional services environment
Experience with Microsoft .NET or C# application stacks, Azure cloud services, SQL, or data reporting workflows
Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps for backlog management, sprint tracking, and release planning
Experience with enterprise documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence or SharePoint
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $142,425 to $237,375.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
