Role overview

Summary

The British Council is seeking a part-time English teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and ensure effective learning for students across a range of age groups in Paris and the Île-de-France region. This role involves planning, preparing, and delivering English language lessons, monitoring student progress, and contributing to the development of courses and materials while upholding professional standards and safeguarding policies.

Role Description/Purpose

The British Council’s English Language Centre in Paris opened in 1998, originally as a small operation offering classes to young learners. Today, British Council Paris Teaching operates from its prestigious and centrally located Invalides premises, as well as across ten off-site locations in the Île-de-France region. The centre delivers a broad portfolio of English language courses, teaching approximately 4,800 young learners aged 3 to 18 during the academic year and a further 2,000 learners through holiday courses. The adult programme, launched in 2007, now offers lessons for Adult learners, enabling adults to book individual lessons according to their preferences, with over 1,000 adult learners engaged at any one time. The operation continues to grow, with ambitions to further expand off-site delivery.
