The Staff Data Analyst will join the Vendor Strategic Programs team at Delivery Hero, focusing on optimizing pricing strategies and empowering restaurant partners globally. This role involves providing actionable insights, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and championing a data-driven mindset to drive growth and enhance operational efficiency.

About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for a Staff Data Analyst to join the Vendor Strategic Programs team.

As part of this team, you will be working on some of the most exciting and strategically critical projects supporting our restaurant partners. For instance, we improve the affordability of millions of dishes on a daily basis, providing actionable insights to optimize the pricing strategy of hundreds of thousands of vendors globally.

As part of our broader Vendor Team, we jointly contribute to the success of both Delivery Hero and thousands of restaurants, shops, and local businesses. Your contribution will empower vendors with advanced tools to manage their operations, boosting their visibility and reach. The insights you create and the improvements you enable will create growth opportunities for businesses of all sizes, strengthening Delivery Hero’s ecosystem and impact.

  • Work alongside a top team of data scientists, engineers, product managers, and closely with the commercial teams to deliver strategy-defining insights fast and in high-quality

  • Inform leadership decisions that define how we grow and support our base of 1m+ restaurants in 65+ countries, how we monetize our services and how we provide affordable meals to millions of people every day

  • Champion a data-driven mindset, guiding leaders and team members on methodology and best practices in leveraging data effectively

  • Collaborate closely across departments to make the most of our vast company data pool, driving new solutions and enhancing operational efficiency at scale

  • Engage with local and global teams on a daily basis to deeply understand their requirements, and business priorities, translating them into actionable insights and strategic recommendations

What you need to be successful

  • Significant experience as a BI/Data analyst (preferably in e-commerce or fintech) with a degree in statistics, mathematics, economics/business, computer science or an equivalent education and/or relevant practical experience

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL (preferably, experience with BigQuery) and data visualization (Tableau and Looker)

  • Proficiency in analytics engineering tools, incl. Orchestration tools like dbt and Airflow

  • Experience with data modeling and turning complex data into actionable insights

  • Passion for data, with creative problem-solving abilities and an eye for detail

  • You don’t hide behind data and tickets - you demonstrate top-notch business acumen and relentless curiosity to crack complex business challenges with clear recommendations

  • You thrive being embedded closely with commercial teams as your key counterparts - as our ideal candidate you have a strong commercial background having worked in a business role or equivalent in the past

  • You are an outstanding team player, able to coordinate cross-functional work teams and excited to handle time-critical challenges and decision ambiguity

  • You execute fast to deliver value to your global stakeholders without long iteration loops

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral

Nice to have:

  • Practical experience working with Git (or similar version control system)

  • Practical experience with Python

  • Practical experience in A/B Testing: Experience designing experiments and analyzing results with a solid background in statistics
