Summary

This Head of Engineering role involves defining backend architecture, overseeing e-commerce middleware, and managing data and integrations. The position also includes leading technical recruitment, mentoring developers, and influencing the global platform roadmap through strategic insights.

Technical Authority: Define backend architecture standards, hosting strategies, and binding technical directions across all agency projects
Middleware Orchestration: Oversee the design and operation of mission-critical eCom flows
Data & Orders: Product/stock synchronization and complex order delegation logic
Integrations: Connecting 3rd-party ERP, CDP, CRM, and Payment/Fraud providers
Logistics: Custom carrier and warehouse management system (WMS) integrations

Leadership & Hiring: Own technical recruitment and mentor Lead Developers and DevOps Engineers to elevate technical decision-making and career growth
Efficiency & AI: Standardize CI/CD pipelines and define workflows for AI-supported development to maximize team velocity
Platform Feedback: Act as the strategic link to SCAYLE CORE teams, utilizing agency insights to influence the global platform roadmap

Qualifications

  • Expert PHP (Laravel): Deep track record in designing and building complex e-commerce middleware

  • Architectural Design: Proven ability to document and implement scalable integration patterns for enterprise systems (ERP, PIM, PSP)

  • AWS & Infrastructure: Expertise in core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, SQS, Kafka) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

  • Leadership: Experience managing and scaling senior technical teams

  • Excellent client communication

  • Experience in Agency environment

  • Expert Vue3/Nuxt knowledge
