Takt Raises $9.25 Million Series A to Scale Warehouse Labor Intelligence Platform

Reston, Virginia-based warehouse labor management and intelligence company Takt has raised $9.25 million in Series A funding to expand its platform, strengthen AI and automation capabilities, and support the growing operations of enterprise warehouse customers.

The round was led by Ballast Point Partners and represents Takt's first institutional financing.

Founded in 2021 by Glynn LoPresti, Alex Rhea and Noah MacMichael, Takt helps warehouses unify labor, automation and robotics data into a single operational model.

Unifying Warehouse Operations Data

Modern distribution centers use a growing number of technologies, including warehouse automation, autonomous mobile robots, sortation systems and voice technology.

However, the data generated by these systems is often spread across separate platforms.

Takt integrates with warehouse management systems, time clocks, robotics, material handling controls and internal applications to create a unified view of warehouse operations.

The platform continuously measures activity against engineered labor standards, allowing operations teams to plan labor, set performance goals, coach employees and connect operational performance with costs.

Using AI to Improve Warehouse Performance

TaktAI analyzes the combined operational data to identify where performance is changing and help supervisors understand why.

The company is developing AI agents that can move beyond explaining operational changes to taking action within defined parameters.

These capabilities are designed to help rebalance labor against live order profiles while keeping supervisors in control.

Enterprise Adoption

Takt supports more than 100 warehouses across North America and international markets, including operations for Fortune 500 retailers, global brands and major third-party logistics providers.

Kenco deployed Takt across 19 distribution centers. At one CPG site, the company reported a 15% reduction in average cost per pallet, equivalent to approximately $229,000 in annual savings.

ODW Logistics reported a 29% improvement in workforce performance and a 39% increase in employee retention after replacing its legacy labor management system with Takt.

Expanding the Platform

The Series A funding will support broader integrations with warehouse management, robotics and material handling systems.

Takt also plans to expand into order orchestration, resource scheduling and engineering tools while continuing development of its TaktAI agents.

The company will also expand its operations across the United Kingdom, European Union and Asia-Pacific.

Building an Intelligence Layer for Warehouses

Takt is positioning its platform as an operational intelligence layer connecting the people, automation and robotics that power modern warehouses.

As distribution centers become increasingly automated, the company is betting that combining labor and machine data can help operators make faster decisions while work is still underway.
