SwitchOn Secures $8 Million Pre-Series B to Scale AI-Powered Manufacturing Solutions

Bengaluru-based manufacturing technology startup SwitchOn has raised $8 million (approximately ₹78 crore) in a pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital.

The company said the funding will be used to accelerate its international expansion, strengthen research and development in next-generation Physical AI, and expand its sales and go-to-market capabilities across global manufacturing industries.

Developing AI-Based Quality Inspection Systems

Founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, SwitchOn develops AI-powered quality inspection solutions for manufacturers. Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, uses computer vision technology to detect surface defects on fast-moving production lines with high precision.

According to the company, the platform can inspect more than 1,200 products per minute, achieve over 99% detection accuracy, and reduce quality-related costs by up to 50%.

Growing Global Manufacturing Presence

Since deploying its first production systems in 2021, SwitchOn has expanded its technology to more than 170 production lines across over 60 manufacturing facilities spanning four continents.

Its customer portfolio includes Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and ALPA, serving industries such as consumer goods, automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.

Supporting the Next Phase of Industrial AI

The company plans to invest the new capital in advancing Physical AI—AI systems designed to interact directly with industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.

Commenting on the funding, Aniruddha Banerjee, Co-founder of SwitchOn, said the company aims to modernize quality inspection in manufacturing through AI-driven automation. Vikram Gupta, Founder and Managing Partner at IvyCap Ventures, said SwitchOn has built a globally relevant Physical AI platform with a growing international customer base.
