Production Supervisor (Lamination)

About This Opportunity:

You’ll lead from the front on the shop floor, working side by side with your team. You’ll optimize workflows, mentor talent, and be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Lamination department, ensuring composite parts are produced safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.

The Supervisor will work closely with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to identify priorities, resolve production constraints, and ensure parts move through the manufacturing process on time. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on composite manufacturing knowledge with the ability to lead, coach, organize, and hold a growing production team accountable.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the Team: Manage hourly technicians in our Lamination department, building a culture of collaboration, quality, and urgency. Maintain an organized, clean, and production-ready work environment.

• Optimize Production: Translate the production schedule into clear daily and weekly priorities for Leads and Composites Technicians. Own workflow management, including work assignments, staffing, scheduling, and prioritization of production activities.

• Streamline Processes: Maintain visibility into upcoming work and proactively identify potential bottlenecks, material shortages, tooling constraints, or staffing issues.

• Consistent Communication: Conduct shift start meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure effective handoffs between shifts when applicable.

• Champion Digital Tools: Train your team on using our proprietary systems to improve accuracy and drive continuous improvement.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Engineering, Quality to ensure materials, documentation, and programming are always ready to meet production schedules.

• Drive Continuous Improvement: Provide DFM feedback to Engineering to reduce costs and improve manufacturability. Implement and enforce production best practices.

• Be Hands-On: Lead, train, and develop composite technicians, including onboarding new team members, implementing cross-training programs, and establishing technician capability goals.

• Support Administration Tasks: Oversee timesheets and manage schedules.

• Support EHS: Enforce safe work practices including PPE use, hazardous material handling, FOD prevention, and compliance with EHS procedures

What We're Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience in the manufacturing of composites parts from prepreg materials, with strong knowledge of relevant materials and methods.

• 2+ years of experience managing direct reports.

• Be a strong leader, able to foster a “all for one” mentality where people give and accept help to deliver quality parts on time.

• Have a high sense of urgency, and a resolve to deliver the highest quality.

• Have experience in startups or small teams in fast-paced and quickly changing environments

• Be well versed in how to design successful manufacturing methods for such parts (including how to split tooling, use of intensifiers/caul plates, adhesive films, core splice, hard points, ply drops, debulk strategy, etc.)

• Have experience in other composites manufacturing methods like vacuum infusion (VARTM), compression molding/hot pressed molding, trapped rubber molding, and wet layup.

• Be proficient on a computer and experienced using typical administrative software for communication, planning, and coordination. (e.g. word, excel, outlook).

• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across production, engineering, quality, planning, and program teams

• Ability to work extended hours or alternate shifts as needed to support production schedules

Bonus Points:

• Experience with manufacturing software systems (e.g., JIRA, ERP/MRP, MES, PLM).

• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar aerospace quality management systems
