The Role

We are looking for a Product / Category Manager to join our Product Management team in Bangalore. This role will be responsible for driving the strategy, growth, profitability, and innovation of RAK Ceramics’ Sanitaryware, Bathware & Faucets portfolio in India.

The role will own the category P&L and portfolio strategy while leading product development from opportunity identification through launch and post-launch performance. The position will also drive route-to-retail, go-to-market execution, dealer enablement, retail activation, premiumisation, and innovation in partnership with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and global innovation teams.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own the category P&L, strategy, marketing, and profitability for the Sanitaryware, Bathware & Faucets portfolio
  • Develop and execute the annual category growth plan covering new product launches, portfolio expansion, and margin improvement
  • Define portfolio architecture by identifying segments to enter, expand, rationalise, or reposition based on market insights, consumer needs, dealer feedback, and market visits
  • Lead the end-to-end product development process, from opportunity identification and business case development through product development, launch, and post-launch performance
  • Manage product cost targets from concept development through mass production
  • Own the route-to-retail process, covering quotation, order management, planning, dispatch, and site installation
  • Drive retail-led category growth beyond the traditional project channel
  • Lead go-to-market execution including product positioning, launch narrative, channel readiness, dealer education, and retail merchandising
  • Drive premiumisation of the portfolio through hardware, finishes, technology, and higher-value product tiers
  • Build and maintain a strong innovation and product pipeline in collaboration with global innovation and local engineering teams
  • Translate emerging technologies and market opportunities into differentiated, commercially viable products
  • Drive digital enablement initiatives such as specification self-service and configurator tools for dealers and customers
  • Build and lead a cross-functional team across product management and route-to-market
  • Act as the custodian of product quality, brand positioning, portfolio architecture, and assortment

What We Are Looking For

Some of the key competencies required for the role include:

Functional

  • Strong expertise in Product Management / Category Management with ownership of strategy, portfolio, and profitability
  • Proven experience in P&L management and delivering category growth and margin improvement
  • Strong understanding of product development, from opportunity identification and business case through launch and post-launch management
  • Experience in route-to-market, supply chain, order management, planning, and retail execution
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategy, channel readiness, dealer enablement, and retail activation
  • Ability to develop portfolio architecture and make data-driven decisions on product expansion and rationalisation
  • Strong understanding of premiumisation, product positioning, pricing, and assortment strategy
  • Ability to work closely with Engineering, Design, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to ERP/SAP and PLM tools will be valuable
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX, along with DFMA/DFMEA exposure, will be an advantage.

Our Ideal Match

  • Graduate / B.Tech, with an MBA / PGDM in Marketing or General Management from a recognised institute
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management / Category Management with P&L and portfolio accountability
  • Proven experience across product development and route-to-market / supply chain
  • Experience in go-to-market, dealer enablement, and retail activation
  • Industry experience in Sanitaryware, Bathware, Faucets, Tiles, Building Materials, or relevant industries will be valuable
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to ERP/SAP and PLM tools
  • Experience with CAD tools and DFMA/DFMEA will be an advantage
  • Strong command of English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages will be an advantage
