Maintenance Technician - Reliability

An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Fitter with a focus on reliability to join our Maintenance Team. This is a hands-on trade position within the Reliability Team. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Reliability & Maintenance Projects Coordinator and alongside maintenance, production, electrical and specialist contractor personnel. This role combines planned maintenance, condition-based follow-up work, precision mechanical fitting and practical reliability improvements across a large, highly automated timber-processing site.

To be successful you will:

  • Hold a NZ recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering – Fitting/Turning & Diagnostics;
  • Have a minimum 8+ years of recent work experience in heavy industrial plant;
  • Be skilled in hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, bearing fitment, setup and alignment, mechanical fitting, diagnostics etc.;
  • Work to and interpret mechanical drawings and deliver reliable, high-quality work;
  • Have natural leadership skills and have confident interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrate an essential “Safety First” attitude, leading by example
  • Previous experience in a Sawmill or timber processing plant would be advantageous.

Hours of work are 40 hours Wednesday – Saturday, 6.00am-4.30pm with occasional overtime available as required.

Competitive remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidates with proven skills and knowledge, including weekly tool allowance, a penal rate for time worked on Saturday and an overtime rate of time and a half for all work over 40 hours per week.
