This role involves ensuring high standards in animal welfare, optimizing operational practices, and guaranteeing safety for both teams and facilities within the assigned area.

Managing teams, supporting their skills development and ensuring the best living conditions for animals: if you like to take a step back while remaining connected to the field, this position is for you.

At ZooParc de Beauval, our animal teams work every day with passion and high standards to ensure the well-being of the animals and contribute to our conservation mission.

Your role: to support these leaders, develop the teams, optimize the organization and guarantee a high level of standards in animal practices and safety.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

    • To promote skills development and employee growth

    • To create a collective dynamic and encourage cooperation between sectors

  • Be present on the ground and attentive to operational realities.

  • Ensuring Animal Welfare

    • Guarantee the quality of care and well-being of the animals (daily monitoring, reproduction, monitoring of aging animals, etc.)

    • Collaborate closely with the veterinary teams

  • Optimize practices and ensure safety

    • Optimize working practices and methods

    • Optimize resources and schedules

    • Supporting sector managers in the search for solutions and improvements

    • Participate in cross-functional projects related to the development of the park

With proven experience in management, you are skilled in team leadership and know how to manage an operational activity with rigor and pragmatism. You have at least 5 years of management experience, ideally in a demanding environment where team coordination and decision-making are essential. With extensive experience in field teamwork, you are committed to developing your employees, optimizing organizations and ensuring a high level of collective performance. Versatile experience in the animal field is required; your strong interest in animal species, and especially carnivores, will be a real asset for success in this position. Known for your leadership, your ability to take a step back and remain calm under pressure, you demonstrate clear, direct and constructive communication. You listen to your teams while also knowing how to set boundaries and make decisions. Rigorous, organized and possessing a good analytical mind, you know how to manage complex situations with maturity and professionalism.

Through this position, you will understand the challenges associated with the responsibility of a Carnivore department and are ready to fully commit yourself in a demanding environment, at the heart of the missions of the Beauval ZooParc.

This position is open to people with disabilities.

Upon your arrival, you will receive training and support in your future role. Depending on the length of your contract, we offer you the opportunity to discover the park during your onboarding through an immersive physical or virtual experience.
