Want to get to work with flora, fauna, and the Environment and Planning Act? This is your chance! As an Ecologist at Ecoresult, you will guide, advise, and support our clients in complying with the Environment and Planning Act. Together with an experienced team of driven colleagues, we make a difference for the environment in which we live. Do you want to pursue your passion while continuously developing yourself? We look forward to hearing from you!
Your role as an Ecologist
As an Ecologist, you unburden our clients regarding protected species and areas. In this role, you guide, advise, and support them in complying with the Environment and Planning Act. Working under the supervision of project managers, you handle multiple projects and assignments and maintain frequent contact with environmental agencies and our clients, such as municipalities or housing corporations. This sometimes requires you to come up with resourceful and creative solutions. Fortunately, you can always brainstorm with your colleagues and draw upon their knowledge and experience. Finally, you contribute to the drafting of species management plans, several of which we will be implementing simultaneously in 2025. You actively contribute to this and play a role in guiding and supporting junior team members. You are capable of managing projects from start to finish, demonstrating strong professionalism regarding both content and process.
Your 3 main tasks are:
Drafting reports and conducting species-specific further research.
Drafting permit applications to continue safeguarding flora and fauna during spatial interventions.
Developing ecological work protocols.
In this role, you have the opportunity to perform fieldwork, but you primarily use your skills to deliver a product that benefits both the customer and nature.
Requirements
Passion: You are enthusiastic about all flora and fauna and want to contribute to this in your work. In doing so, you seek creative solutions to make the Netherlands increasingly nature-inclusive. Maintaining an overview of your work is also very important in this regard.
Furthermore, we ask
Thorough knowledge of flora and fauna.
Understanding of the Environment and Planning Act and demonstrable experience in applying it.
Experience with conducting fieldwork and drafting permit applications.
Experience with or affinity for guiding juniors is a plus.
The ability to independently manage projects from start to finish.
