Role overview

Summary

The Residential Block Management Surveyor will partner with the senior property manager and service charge accountant to provide technical care and advice to clients, ensuring schedules are met. Key responsibilities include managing Capex Plans, writing major works schedules, supervising works, and assisting with service charge budgets.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced building surveyor who can work in partnership with both the senior property manager and the service charge accountant to provide a professional standard of technical care and advice to our clients and to ensure that schedules are attained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep Capex Plans up to date and advise Residents’ Associations or Freeholders of schedules for major works and estimated costs

  • Write schedules of major works Attend to Section 20 Notices and go to the tendering process

  • Supervise major works and sign off works for payment

  • Help with the preparation of annual service charge budgets

  • Attend properties and ascertain and progress any special works where required

  • Attend when required Residents’ Association meetings to advise on major works.

About You

  • Chartered Status is preferable - ARICS/MRICS

  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience of Building Surveying, ideally in Residential Block Management

  • Experienced in project management, tender preparation and the Section 20 process

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to interpret and present findings to the directors of Residents’ Associations Ability to demonstrate an attention to detail and proactively analyse and resolve residential issues

  • Ability to work as an individual and to work as a team member

  • A broad spectrum of experience in block management
