The Video Editor for Social Media will transform field footage and research visuals into compelling short-form videos for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This role involves creating engaging, platform-optimized edits, adding captions, music, and basic motion graphics, and collaborating with the team to align content with conservation campaigns.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor (Social Media) to help transform our field footage, research visuals, and storytelling content into compelling short-form videos. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys visual storytelling, understands social media trends, and wants to apply their editing skills to meaningful conservation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form videos for platforms including Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts

  • Create engaging, platform-optimized edits using provided footage, photos, and audio

  • Add captions, subtitles, music, and basic motion graphics as needed

  • Collaborate with the Pathos Wildlife team to align videos with ongoing projects and campaigns

  • Adapt content to social media trends while maintaining brand consistency

  • Organize and deliver edited content in a timely manner

Preferred Skills

  • Experience editing short-form video content (personal, academic, or professional)

  • Proficiency with video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)

  • Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual flow

  • Familiarity with social media formats, aspect ratios, and trends

  • Interest in wildlife conservation, science, or environmental storytelling
