Summary

This role involves coordinating activities related to the acquisition, sale, donation, and lease of properties for the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. Key responsibilities include coordinating appraisals, compiling property data, providing public information, and maintaining comprehensive records and files.

JOB This is the first of two levels in the Real Estate series.

Incumbents coordinate activities related to the acquisition, sale, donation, and lease of properties. Responsibilities may include coordinating appraisals; compiling data on adjudicated properties; providing information to the public; coordinating utility coordination and relocation efforts with third-parties; and maintaining records and files.

  • Coordinates the acquisition, sale, lease, and/or donation of various properties, monitors compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Coordinates real estate appraisals of land and residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings, monitors inventories.

  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes property and real estate data and documentation including leases, deeds, applications, closing papers, market data, and/or related documents.

  • May coordinate with various departments and contractors to facilitate specialized needs to complete property transactions.

  • Counsels citizens on real estate pricing and sales processes; provides information to the public as requested.

  • Coordinates necessary permits and utility coordination relocation efforts as needed.

  • Maintains hard copy and electronic property records and files.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
