Role Description
The Assistant Professor role is a full-time, on-site position based at Amity University Gurugram. The selected candidate will design and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical sessions, ensuring alignment with university curricula and academic standards. Responsibilities include mentoring students, supervising projects and dissertations, and supporting their academic and professional growth. The role also involves engaging in research activities, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, participating in conferences, and contributing to departmental and university-level committees. The Assistant Professor will assist in curriculum development, continuous assessment, academic administration, and outreach activities that strengthen industry and community partnerships.
Qualifications
Strong subject-matter expertise in Journalism & Mass Communication, with the ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses effectively.
Advertising, Public Relations, Media Studies etc.
Proven research skills, including the ability to design studies, publish in reputed journals, and seek research funding or collaborations.
Excellent teaching, communication and presentation skills, with a student-centered approach and commitment to inclusive pedagogy.
Ability to use educational technologies, learning management systems and digital tools to enhance teaching and assessment.
Demonstrated skills in academic writing, curriculum development and continuous evaluation methods.
Master’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution; PhD is a must.
Capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to departmental initiatives, and participate in academic governance activities.
Experience with industry linkages, consultancy, community engagement or extension activities will be considered an advantage.
