Job Summary
The Farm Compliance Specialist supports biosecurity, animal health and welfare, environmental compliance, and pest control programs for all layer and pullet flocks. This role helps ensure compliance with FDA, NPIP, UEP, AHC, state regulations, and customer standards. The position assists with implementing and maintaining protocols that protect the safety and well-being of hens while supporting regulatory and industry requirements.
Essential Job Functions
Assist in the development and implementation of farm compliance programs aligned with applicable regulations and standards
Support compliance personnel with daily activities and documentation
Promote Versova’s core values across all programs
Track and document bird movements and flock testing activities
Assist with internal audits of site compliance
Help prepare for external audits related to animal health, welfare, and biosecurity
Coordinate bird and environmental testing to ensure compliance with timelines
Assist with employee training programs related to compliance
Maintain accurate records in accordance with document control programs
Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes
Support corrective actions from internal audits and external inspections
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field
2+ years of experience in compliance, animal care, or related farm/industry work
Knowledge of poultry industry and regulations
Ability to obtain necessary licenses/certifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe DC
Strong communication and computer skills
Able to work in various climate conditions and physical environments
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience assisting with internal compliance inspections
Ability to promote and encourage employee buy-in for compliance programs
Work Environment
This position is usually based out of a farm site. Farm Compliance Specialist must be comfortable in both office and farm settings, with exposure to typical poultry farm conditions, with 60-70% of the role involves onsite activities, with the remaining 30-40% dedicated to office/computer work. This role is crucial in coordinating and ensuring that site activities align with our food safety, biosecurity, welfare, and compliance protocols, safeguarding the well-being of our flocks and egg products. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to manage multiple on-site projects while adapting to changing regulatory landscapes. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary during critical periods or compliance reporting deadlines. The role may occasionally travel to other company locations for assessments or training.
