Specific:
Interface with Optical Alignment Process Engineer to automate manual alignment tasks
Understand, evaluate, and procure robot hardware needed for automation tasks
Understand end-user needs to develop fully featured applications with intuitive user interfaces
Develop Application Programming Interface (API) for equipment used in alignment and test of opto-mechanical assemblies
Produce software requirement documents, architect object-oriented solutions, and maintain repository of code modules for re-use in future applications
Follow software development best practices; including unit testing, PEP-257 documentation, and error logging
Provide data-based evidence that developed processes meet product requirements through functional and end user testing
Generate documentation to include in the quality management system; contribute to business knowledge repositories for software development and test automation
Create work instructions and provide training on resultant processes to Manufacturing personnel
Troubleshoot software, equipment, and optical workstations to quickly resolve production-impacting issues
Identify opportunities for automation within the company; implement solutions to meet a wide array of business needs
Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
3 years of Python programming experience
1 year of software architecture experience
1 year of experience with machine vision (OpenCV preferred)
1 year of manufacturing experience
Experience aligning and testing optical systems on optical breadboards is a plus
