The opportunity

As Engineering Manager, Platform & Security, you will lead the teams responsible for the foundations that power Distribusion's products and operations. Covering Platform Engineering, IT, and Information Security, your mission is to build scalable, secure, and reliable systems that enable our engineering teams and the wider business to operate at their best.

To prepare our technical foundation for 10x growth, we are looking for a highly strategic, business-oriented leader to transform how these critical functions operate. You will act as the crucial bridge between our infrastructure and the broader company by professionalizing our tech stack, driving complex vendor negotiations, and building transparent roadmaps that clearly showcase your team's impact.

What you will do

• You'll lead the teams that keep Distribusion running securely, reliably, and at scale.

• From cloud infrastructure and developer tooling to internal IT and information security, you'll be responsible for the platforms and processes that enable our teams to move fast with confidence.

• You'll grow and support a team spanning Platform Engineering, IT, and Security, helping define strategy, drive execution, and raise the bar for operational excellence across the company.

• Vendor management including negotiating conditions and overseeing detailed infrastructure and project cost tracking.

• Your work will directly impact the productivity of our engineers, the resilience of our systems, and the security of our business as we continue to scale globally.

Workplace: Berlin & Hybrid

We are mainly looking for this role to be based in Germany, preferably in our headquarters in Berlin.

Job requirements

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience leading and developing engineering teams in high-growth technology environments.

• Strong technical background in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, Information Security, or related domains.

• Proven track record of building, scaling, and improving engineering teams, processes, and operational excellence.

• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational priorities.

• Strong understanding of modern cloud-native architectures, infrastructure automation, observability, and security best practices.

• Experience driving reliability, availability, and security improvements in production environments at scale.

• Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders and align technical initiatives with company goals.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across all levels of the organisation.

• Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers and technical leaders.

• Data-driven mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities can change quickly.

• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams across Platform Engineering, Internal IT, and Information Security functions.

• Experience with compliance and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR-related initiatives.

• Experience supporting globally distributed engineering organisations.

• Previous experience in a high-growth B2B SaaS, marketplace, or travel technology company.
