Anyone else feel like coding/technical skills are only 50% of the job? ๐Ÿ˜…

Discussion attachment

Hey guys, just joined the channel! I wanted to share a quick realization Iโ€™ve had recently while working on some dev and data projects.

For the longest time, I thought that if I just kept my head down, wrote clean code, built solid layouts in Android Studio, or made flawless dashboards, my leads or supervisors would automatically notice and hand out opportunities.

Turns out, thatโ€™s a total trap. Iโ€™m starting to realize that "managing up" is just as crucial as technical execution. Proactively updating your lead on metrics before they ask, or bringing them two solid, actionable options instead of just saying "this code is broken," completely changes how you are viewed.

Curious to know from those who are a bit further alongโ€”whatโ€™s the one "invisible" non-technical skill you had to learn that actually moved the needle for your career? ๐Ÿš€
