Summary and responsibilities

Role overview

Summary

As an Associate SAP Software Engineer at FINN, you will join the ERP Product team to design and implement scalable solutions in S/4HANA, collaborating closely with Finance & Legal. You will develop and maintain ABAP solutions, take ownership of features, and work across a diverse tech stack including Node and Python.

Your Role

As Associate SAP Software Engineer, you are part of the ERP Product team, which develops Products in close collaboration with our Finance & Legal Department. In a highly integrated and automated system landscape, you design and implement solutions in S/4HANA that are scalable and seamlessly integrated with the rest of our tech stack.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build in S/4HANA: Develop, extend and maintain ABAP solutions in our S/4HANA Cloud system. You start with bounded, well-scoped pieces and ramp up quickly into bigger ones.

  • Own Something Early: Ownership is core to how we work. Within your first months you take a feature, interface or process and make it yours — design, build, ship, support.

  • Work Across the FINN Stack: SAP doesn't live in isolation. You touch Make, Node, Python, Retool and our Data Warehouse as you trace data end-to-end from upstream automation, through SAP to downstream analytics.

  • Investigate, Don't Just Implement: Work directly with Finance stakeholders. Understand the actual pain — not just the ticket. Propose better solutions when the ticket misses the point.

  • Learn Modern SAP: Clean Core principles, Released APIs, RAP, OData, side-by-side extensibility on BTP. You bring the hunger; we invest in your growth.

Your Profile

  • Fresh Computer Science graduate, or 1–3 years of software engineering experience.

  • Basic SAP/ABAP skills required — internship, working student role, certification, bootcamp or first job all count. We don't expect years of ABAP; we expect that you've seen it and want more.

  • Strong openness toward non-SAP technology in the FINN stack: Make, Node, Python, Retool, DWH, dbt. Hands-on prerequisites here are a strong plus, not a requirement.

  • Genuine interest in modern SAP development — Clean Core, Released APIs, RAP, BTP, side-by-side extensibility — and willingness to make it part of your toolbelt.

  • Analytical, data-driven and comfortable digging into systems you don't yet fully understand.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills — you'll talk to Finance stakeholders from week one.
