Summary
This internship involves conducting in-depth research on travel destinations across India, including local communities, culture, and tourism trends. The intern will be responsible for data collection, documentation, and market analysis to help build meaningful and experience-focused travel offerings.
We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and research-driven intern to support destination research and knowledge building across India's travel ecosystem. The role involves conducting in-depth research on travel destinations, experiences, local communities, culture, accessibility, accommodation, and tourism trends to help build meaningful and experience-focused travel offerings. This role is ideal for someone passionate about travel, research, storytelling, and discovering unique places across India. This position is open to candidates based in Mumbai
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
A. Destination research:
Conduct detailed research on travel destinations across India, including lesser-known and emerging locations.
Study destinations from multiple perspectives such as nature, culture, heritage, wildlife, food, local communities, and experiential travel opportunities.
Identify unique experiences, seasonal attractions, and local activities available in each destination.
Research accessibility, connectivity, travel routes, nearby cities, and transportation options.
Map local experiences.
B. Data collection & documentation:
Maintain destination databases, trackers, spreadsheets, and research documents.
Prepare summaries, presentations, and reports for internal discussions and planning.
Collect and verify information from multiple reliable sources.
C. Market & trend research:
Study travel trends, traveller preferences, and emerging tourism patterns in India.
Analyze competitor platforms, travel communities, and tourism models.
Support research on eco-tourism, experiential travel, rural tourism, and community-based tourism initiatives.
Other requirements
Strong research and analytical skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
Ability to organize information clearly and systematically.
Attention to detail and ability to verify information accurately.
Interest in travel, geography, culture, tourism, sustainability, or hospitality.
